Dr.
U. Bapputty Haji Library is regarded as number one Islamic
Library of Kerala with more than 20000 books/documents.
The foundation of the then Al-Manhal Library was laid
in 1988 as suggestion of M.M Basheer Musliyar, one of
the three founders of then Darul Huda Islamic Academy.
The foundation stone of the present three storied building
located in the right side of the front courtyard was
laid by Hon. Palestine Grand Mufti Dr. Ekrima Swabri
on 590903 And it was opened for Public in 10th of May
2009 by Late Marhoom Seyd Muhammad Ali Shihab Thangal,
the spiritual Leader and President of IUML Kerala and
was named as Dr. U. Bapputty Haji Library for the esteemed
Memory of the Founding Father.
The Reference area of the library have the capacity
of 200 seating with writing tables and its reading hall
also have the same capacity. The whole collection of
library has been divided into five locations as Arabic,
Urdu, English, Malayalam and Farisi corners. There are
More than 140 Magazines and periodicals in the library
which are published from different parts of the world
in various languages.
One of the most priced features of the library is its
large Digital Library having internet access and large
collections of digitalized books
The library provides the access to online journals through
a well-equipped Digital Library. Digital Resources on
many subjects are made accessible through the Greenstone
Digital Library software. All the issue able books in
the Library are bar coded for automated check in and
check out and have the facility of OPAC searching through
more than ten computers here and there of the library.
About 1400 students, teachers and other members of the
University visit the Library daily. The library is open
from 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m.
